If you’re living in Pakistan and using a mobile phone, you’ll need to pay the PTA tax. The tax is calculated based on the import value of your phone, and it ranges from 2% to 5%.

The PTA tax is an important part of owning a mobile phone in Pakistan. The Federal Board of Revenue collects the tax, and the money is used to support the country’s telecommunications infrastructure.

International passengers arriving in Pakistan are also required to pay the PTA tax. The tax is collected at the airport, and it’s based on the value of your phone.

Here’s how to calculate the PTA tax on your mobile phone:

1. Find out the import value of your phone. This can be done by checking the invoice or receipt that came with your phone.

2. multiply the import value of your phone by the PTA tax rate that applies to your phone. For example, if the import value of your phone is Rs. 30,000 and the PTA tax rate is 5%, you’ll need to pay Rs. 1,500 in tax.

3. Add the PTA tax to your mobile phone bill. This is the total amount you’ll need to pay each month for your phone service, including the PTA tax.

4. Pay your mobile phone bill on time. If you don’t pay your bill on time, you may be charged a late fee.

How to Check The PTA Status of your Mobile Phones

If you are buying a mobile phone from a retailer, they will usually include the PTA tax in the price of the phone. However, if you are buying a phone online or from an individual, you will need to pay the tax yourself.

There are basically two methods to check the PTA status of your phone.

1. First one is known as the IMEI Verification System and is designed to prevent the import of counterfeit or stolen phones. To use this system, you need to know the IMEI number of your phone. This is a 15-digit number that is unique to your phone and can be found by dialing *#06# on most phones.

Once you have the IMEI number, you can visit the PTA website and enter it into the online form. The website will then tell you whether the phone is registered with the PTA or not.

2. The PTA has also introduced a new SMS service that allows you to check the status of your phone without needing the IMEI number. To use this service, you need to send an SMS to the PTA number 8484 with the word “STATUS” followed by your phone’s IMEI number.

You will then receive a reply SMS from the PTA telling you whether your phone is registered or not.
